Translating Peace Education into Community Peacebuilding

Broadcast on August 09, 2016
With Jeffrey Weisberg & Dot Maver

At the River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding, Educating for Peace translates as educating for living in harmonious relationship with self, others and all life. In order to educate, or draw forth, a culture of peace in community, everyone is recognized as a peacebuilder capable of realizing harmony through conflict. Everyone learns to resolve conflict through healthy communication in relationships, thus breaking the cycle of violence and building a safer community. Peace Education in Community includes social emotional learning and restorative practices, and begins with personal practices of peace.
