Riane Eisler
Riane Eisler is internationally known for her groundbreaking work as a systems scientist and attorney working for the human rights of women and children. She is author of The Chalice and the Blade: Our History, Our Future, now in 26 foreign editions. Her The Real Wealth of Nations: Creating a Caring Economics was hailed by Archbishop Desmond Tutu as “a template for the better world we have been so urgently seeking.” Dr. Eisler lectures at universities and corporations internationally, with venues including the United Nations General Assembly, the U.S. State Department, Congressional briefings, and events hosted by heads of state. She keynotes major conferences, and her ideas and books are used in universities and schools and applied in many organizations globally.
She is founder and president of the Center for Partnership Studies, which provides research, education, and public policy work through programs such as the Caring Economy Campaign and the Spiritual Alliance to Stop Intimate Violence (SAIV), which Eisler co-founded with Nobel Peace laureate Betty Williams. She is a member of the Club of Rome, a Councilor of the World Future Council, a fellow of the Academy of Art and Science, and a member of other international and national councils. She has received many honors, including honorary Ph.D. degrees and the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation’s 2009 Distinguished Peace Leadership Award, and is included in the award-winning book Great Peacemakers as one of 20 leaders for world peace, along with Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, and Martin Luther King.
