Luis Flores is a peer instructor and Youth Advisory Board member at Youth Radio, where he has been able to challenge students and peers to think about certain issues through a critical lens. Berkeley born and raised, he has had many opportunities to be involved in his community. Currently a second year student at UC Berkeley majoring in Ethnic Studies, his work as a student goes far beyond just completing his assignments -- he thinks about how they will impact his readers. He is passionate about creating social justice and social change, but stresses the importance of the role that media (and media production) plays in this process. He hopes that his small contributions to his job, school, family, and friends will ultimately help bring about the change he dreams of.
