After writing The Compassionate Life (an inspiration for the film “I Am”), Marc Barasch left his media career to practice “green compassion.” He founded the Green World Campaign (www.greenworld.org) in 2006, which has now planted millions of trees on three continents-- restoring degraded land, increasing rural income and food security, and revitalizing communities struggling on the front lines of climate change. The bold goal: catalyze a global movement to “ReGreen the World in One Generation.”  Marc launched the Green World Charter the Parliament of the World’s Religions (www.greenworldcharter.org), with a call to faith communities to renew the very Tree of Life. He founded Green World Ventures, a social enterprise to plant tens of millions of “superfood” moringa trees in West Africa. He is the author of The Healing Path, Remarkable Recovery, and Healing Dreams, and has been an editor at Psychology Today.. An award-winning filmmaker, he created an Earth Summit special for TBS that was broadcast to 2 billion people in 160 countries. Marc was founding producer of the NPR radio show "E-Town." A life-long student of Tibetan Buddhism, he believes we have just begun to tap the potential of compassion and human potential to birth a regenerative civilization.
