Born in Durban, South Africa, Arun Gandhi is the fifth grandson of the legendry peace leader Mohandas K "Mahatma" Gandhi. He lives in Rochester, NY, and interprets his grandfather's philosophy of nonviolence. He is the founder of the M. K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence at the University of Rochester, NY, and the Founder/President of the Gandhi Worldwide Education Institute to rescue and educate children living in abject poverty and destitution.
