The event, attended by 1,300 restorative justice practitioners, captured the methods of the current movement in restorative justice.

Teiahsha Bankhead, PhD, LCSW
Teiahsha Bankhead, Ph.D., L.C.S.W. is an Associate Professor in the Division of Social Work at California State University, Sacramento. She is responsible for planning, management and delivery of her undergraduate and graduate classes. She teaches diversity, social policy and research methods. A noted author, psychotherapist and university professor, she engages in research and writing on issues of social policy and diversity with particular attention given to race, class, gender and sexual orientation. She lectures internationally on issues of cultural conflict and social policy.
Teiahsha received her M.S.W. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at Berkeley. She was a National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), Minority Research Fellow and a fellow of the United States Psychiatric Congress. She offers public commentary on issues of policy and race and is co-author,with Professor Jewelle Taylor Gibbs, of Preserving Privilege: California politics, propositions and people of color. Dr. Bankhead serves as the Public Policy Committee Chairperson on the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities of the East Bay. She was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles and serves as the Co-Executive Director of Restoraive Justice for Oakland Youth.
