Yassmin Abdel-Magied is the founder of Youth Without Borders and a graduate mechanical engineer from the University ofQueensland. She is a member of the Board of the Queensland Museum, the Australian Multicultural Council, Queensland Design Council and the Youth Affairs Network Queensland. She was Youth Premier at the 2008 Qld Youth Parliament and the Vice President (Policy) for the UN Youth Association of Australia. In 2007, she was awarded Young Muslim Australian of the Year and in 2010, she was named Young Queenslander of the Year.  She enjoys reading, formula one, boxing, and is attempting to save for her first v8.
